NT Solar is thrilled to announce the addition of Kaylyn Semones to the team as Portfolio Manager!
As Portfolio Manager, Kaylyn supports reporting, asset management, and compliance for renewable energy tax credit investments. She works closely with investors, sponsors, developers, and internal stakeholders to monitor portfolio performance and support reporting across the firm’s renewable energy investments.
Recently our marketing team sat down with Kaylyn to learn more about her background and interests. Check out her interview below!
A: I most recently worked as Finance Manager at ClearGen LLC, a CBRE portfolio company focused on sustainable infrastructure investing, where I led investment tax credit transfer transactions and underwrote acquisitions in distributed generation renewables. Before that, I worked in Bank of America’s Global Corporate & Investment Banking Credit division, supporting power, utilities, and renewable energy credit underwriting. I earned my bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech.
A: Early in my career, I went through a placement process where I had the opportunity to rank and match into one of several industry groups. Two stood out to me: healthcare and power, utilities, and renewables. Both appealed to me because the work is both innovative and mission-driven.
I landed in the power, utilities, and renewables group, and as I gained more experience in the renewables space, I realized it was the right fit for me. I found a unique combination of complex, intellectually engaging work and the opportunity to help solve energy challenges while creating lasting value for communities.
A: My strengths are centered around bringing structure to complex work through a thoughtful, steady approach. My background includes credit analysis, underwriting, and managing tax credit transactions end-to-end, where sound judgment, clear communication, and reliability are key. What interests me most is collaborating across internal teams and with our external partners to help execute and manage successful projects and investments. I also enjoy finding ways to improve and build scalable processes that support growth.
A: I’ve been fortunate to work with leaders throughout my career who have had a lasting impact on me. It wasn’t just their technical expertise, but the way they led people that inspired me most. The individuals who stand out to me are those who can navigate complex, high-stakes situations while remaining approachable, generous with their knowledge, and invested in the success of those around them. They’ve shown me that some of the best leaders are defined not only by what they accomplish, but by how they treat others. Those are qualities I admire and strive to emulate in my own career because they create trust, collaboration, and strong teams.
A: I’m excited to deepen my expertise in tax credits and tax equity while following projects throughout their entire lifecycle. I’m also looking forward to building strong relationships with our partners and expanding my perspective across the broader tax credit market, including historic and new markets tax credits. Above all, I’m eager to be part of a team that directs capital toward meaningful projects while delivering strong outcomes for investors.
